I made this cake for my husbands promotion to Chief Petty officer in the Navy, which happened to occur in the same month as his 40th birthday.

Beautiful Art You Can Eat
Several years ago when I started decorating cakes, a friend told me that in the bakery business, the nicer the cake looks, the lower the quality of its taste. I made up my mind right then and there that I was going to make the neatest looking cakes I could that taste awesome. Almost everything I do, I use buttercream frosting--only using fondant and modeling chocolate as accent pieces as much as possible-- to improve the taste of each cake I make. I hope you enjoy looking at these delicious works of art as much as I enjoyed making them!
